Not so with REPELLAN®. REPELLAN® envelopes the fabric like an invisible film and makes it harder for greasy and wet substances to penetrate. All sorts of dirt can be removed easily and gently through a protective treatment, invisible to the naked eye. REPELLAN® can even do more: In fact, the repelling action of the fabric offers lasting protection against water as well – and the treatment remains on your clothes even after many washing cycles.

REPELLAN®
WATER PROTECTION

Always stay nice and dry. REPELLAN® provides long term protection against moisture for textiles. To begin with, rain cannot penetrate fabrics treated with REPELLAN®. Instead, moisture remains in droplet form on the fabric and can simply be wiped away or left to run off. It is proven that REPELLAN® treated clothes retain their original appearance better than untreated textiles. The REPELLAN® film is also breathable – providing the underlying fabric is too. Moreover, REPELLAN® survives many washes and dry cleaning.

REPELLAN®
OIL AND ANTI-STAIN PROTECTION

Stains don’t have a chance. Stains can ruin a piece of clothing in a matter of seconds.Washing detergents may have some effect but, essentiall, prevention is still better. Fortunately, you no longer have to be on guard against the odd spill. REPELLAN® makes it harder for dirt and liquids to penetrate into the textile. This means that if what’s on the table ends up in your lap then it’s easy to get rid of, irrespective of whether it contains water, coffee, tea, wine, oil, butter or a pasta sauce. In fact, in many cases it can just be sponged off. Removing stains through machine washing is also demonstrably easier with REPELLAN®. And cleaning is proven to be more successful – because clothing doesn’t need to be washed at such high temperatures or with abrasive cleaning products, it retains its color and feel for longer. REPELLAN® can also be used to protect clothing used in industrial enviroments.

WHY DO WATER AND STAINS NOT STAND A CHANCE?
HERE’S HOW IT WORKS

The decisive factor for first class water and stain protection in clothing is the law of surface tension.The lower the surface tension, the harder it is for a material to absorb moisture. In other words, liquids must have a markedly lower surface tension than the material into which they wish to penetrate if they are to do so – otherwise liquids will just bead up as droplets. REPELLAN® has an exceptionally low surface tension and as a result, is particularly well suited to protecting textiles against moisture and staining. It provides long lasting and breathable protection against water, oil, alcohol and fatty stains.

REPELLAN®
UNDER REAL LIFE TESTING

Theory is good, but practice is better.That’s why we also test our products under real-life conditions. Our test simulates a heavy rain shower. In these conditions the water repellent properties of Repellan® are tested against unprotected clothing and the test we use is a common, standardized laboratory procedure – carried out according to Bundesmann
DIN EN 29/ISO 9865.
